Position: Director of Marketing and Public Relations
Job Type: Full-time
Location: 619 West Jackson Blvd Chicago, IL (5 days on site)
Compensation: Salary + Bonus = $90K+ (based on experience)

FFC owns and operates 10 upscale, mid and large size multi-use health, sports fitness and spa centers in the Chicago area. We provide corporate wellness programs, health insurance reimbursable nutrition therapy services, signature group fitness programs, spa treatment services, individual and group training, physical therapy and medically based rehabilitation programs. Each Chicagoland location is dedicated to supporting the local community. FFC is recognized by the fitness industry for creating a distinct member experience delivered by its professional staff. This position reports to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), and would be responsible for three direct reports: Marketing Manager, Senior Designer and Field Marketing Manager. This position supports all clubs in a corporate capacity by managing the day-to-day marketing activities, as well as increasing web traffic, expanding brand awareness, and driving qualified leads. It is broken down into these major areas of responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities: 
  • Oversees implementation of the marketing strategy and public relations strategy - including content, campaigns, events, digital marketing, and public relations
  • Responsible for the marketing budget process: establishing and monitoring
  • Development and implementation of the Brand strategy
  • Develops the marketing and communications and public relations strategy to attract new members and support the retention of existing members
  • Works closely with the company’s Senior team to support sales objectives by providing lead generation tools and marketing materials 
  • Guides the day to day activities of the marketing team to ensure that all marketing objectives are executed in advance and on time
  • Works closely with the marketing team to define marketing materials and programs including all internal and external communication 
  • Assists in the execution of all web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, and inbound advertising campaigns and evaluates the metrics thereof
  • Manages the production of all print medium including: rate cards, brochures, in-club flyers, posters, Connections e-magazine, digital screens, etc.
  • Oversees the management and presence of all social media channels and directs programs to improve brand awareness, social media reputation and recognition, and public relations (including crisis management communications)
  • Measures, evaluates and reports performance of all traditional and digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Visits competitor facilities and subscribes/receives digital communication and reviews their websites
  • Participates in the planning, execution and activation of live on/offsite member and employee events
  • Undertakes continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
  • Be the ongoing ‘accuracy audit gatekeeper’ of the FFC website, keeping all information current and timely, deleting programs, offers, staff changes, and all other changes immediately upon end of their term (or directing your direct reports to make the immediate changes)
  • Regularly reviews all website content for accuracy and removes outdated content in a timely manner
  • Reviews and edits monthly dues increase notification letters and coordinates with the Billing Department 
  • Drafts, reviews and/or edits outgoing correspondence for CEO to investor partners, outside parties and/or FFC staff; drafts communications provided by CEO in a verbal format
  • Attends, participates, and takes meeting minutes at the weekly Senior Leadership Team meetings
  • This is a 5 day a week in office at HQ position
