Position: Swim Coach

Location: FFC West Loop
Compensation: $38–$44 per hour

The Role:
The Swim Coach is an integral part of the FFC West Loop team, delivering high-quality, individualized swim instruction for adults of all levels—from total beginners to seasoned endurance athletes. This role includes both 1-on-1 coaching and small group classes, with a focus on building confidence, technique, and overall fitness in the water.

We’re looking for a coach who is passionate about adult swim education, water safety, and helping clients achieve a wide range of personal goals—whether that’s completing their first lap or shaving seconds off their triathlon time.

This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of adult swim programming at our club, with the potential to expand into specialty workshops, master swim training, and more.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional, personalized 1-on-1 swim instruction tailored to adult swimmers’ goals and experience levels
  • Lead small group swim classes that foster an inclusive and motivating environment
  • Create progressive training plans that support technical growth, endurance, and water confidence
  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to each session, starting and ending sessions on time
  • Provide ongoing feedback to clients to track progress and set new goals
  • Ensure the pool area remains clean, organized, and safe before and after each session
  • Collaborate with the Fitness Director to support program visibility and growth
Qualifications:
  • Swim Coach Certification
  • CPR/AED Certification
  • At least one year of experience coaching or instructing adult swimmers
  • Proficiency in all 4 competitive strokes and ability to tailor instruction to different goals (e.g., technique, conditioning, swim prep for races)
  • Passion for helping adult swimmers of all backgrounds feel empowered in the water
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
